Why choose a Scotsman scale ice maker? Scale Ice is sub-cooled to temperatures of between -6c and -12c and can be adjusted to produce thin ice (1.5mm) or thick ice (3mm). The thin ice is preferred by meat processors whilst thick ice is the standard in the fishing industry. More recently supermarkets have been using Scale Ice as an alternative to Flake Ice as it has a more natural appearance and lasts longer. Scotsman MAR and EVE units encompass the ultimate in engineering design using AISI304 grade stainless steel components and environmentally friendly refrigerants (R22, R404a or R717). Each model is specifically designed to accomodate the many variations found in industrial applications.
